# Room Lists

This page lists the room lists in the selected tenant. Room lists group room mailboxes together so users can browse them in the room finder, for example all rooms in one building or all rooms on one floor. A room list is a distribution group flagged as a room list, so adding and removing rooms is a membership change rather than a change to the rooms themselves.

## Action Buttons

<details>

<summary>Add Room List</summary>

Creates a new room list in the selected tenant.

| Field          | Description                                                                                                 |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Display Name | The name shown in the address list and in the room finder. Required. |
| Username | The part before the @ symbol. Required, and limited to letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, and periods. |
| Primary Domain | The domain used after the @ symbol, chosen from the tenant's verified domains. Required. |

**Create Room List** submits the form. The list is created empty, so add rooms to it afterwards on the [Edit Room List](/user-documentation/email/management/room-lists/edit.md) page. Once a list has been created the button changes to **Create Another**, so the drawer can be reused without closing it.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.cipp.app/user-documentation/email/management/room-lists.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
