# Edit Reusable Settings Template

Opens a saved reusable settings template so its name, description and address list can be changed. Edits are stored against the template in CIPP, so they take effect the next time the template is deployed rather than changing any reusable setting already created in a tenant.

The form is the same as [Add Reusable Settings Template](/user-documentation/endpoint/mem/reusable-settings-templates/add.md), populated with the template's stored configuration.

## Template

| Field                          | Description                                    |
| ------------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------- |
| Template / Policy Display Name | The name of the template. Required. |
| Template / Policy Description | The description recorded against the template. |

## Group Setting Collection (Policy)

Each row is one entry in the address list. **Add row** appends another and **Remove** deletes one. Rows added here are given an identifier automatically; rows already in the template keep the identifier they were saved with.

| Field       | Description                                                                                                                                                                  |
| ----------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Autoresolve | Whether the keyword is resolved to the addresses it currently points at. |
| Keyword | The domain, IP address or address range the entry covers. Wildcards are allowed using the `*` character, and CIPP variables can be inserted so the value differs per tenant. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.cipp.app/user-documentation/endpoint/mem/reusable-settings-templates/edit-reusable-settings-template.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
