# SharePoint Templates

The SharePoint Templates page lists the saved SharePoint provisioning templates in CIPP. Each template defines one or more site templates and their document libraries, which can be deployed to tenants to provision SharePoint sites in a consistent way. From here you can create, edit, copy, and delete templates, as well as deploy a template to a tenant.

<summary>Deploy Template</summary>

Deploying pushes a saved template out to a tenant, provisioning the sites, document libraries, and permissions it defines. Selecting **Deploy Template** opens a side panel.

| Field             | Description                                                                                                                                                                                         |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Select Template | The saved template you want to deploy. Required. |
| Select Tenant | The tenant to deploy the template to. One tenant per deployment. Required. |
| Site / Team Owner | The user who will be set as the owner of every site or Team the template creates. The list shows the enabled, licensed users in the selected tenant, and clears if you change the tenant. Required. |

The **Deploy Template** button in the panel queues the deployment, and only becomes available once a template, a tenant, and an owner have been chosen. A **Deployment Progress** view then updates live as each site, library, and permission is provisioned. When it finishes, select **Deploy Again** to run another deployment, or **Close** to dismiss the panel.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.cipp.app/user-documentation/teams-share/sharepoint-templates.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
